The members of Bihar Jagran Manch had requested Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva to help reopen this Chhath Ghat, claiming the same had been closed for the public in the year 2020 by the then Arvind Kejriwal government.

With this Chhath Ghat being operational once again, it will cater to the Bihar community which resides within 4 to 5 km radius, including places like Lakshmi Nagar, Pandav Nagar etc.

Sachdeva, after learning about the issue from people, got in touch with the local officials concerned, and accordingly obtained the necessary permissions after which the cleaning and preparations began at the site.

The BJP leader reached the ground zero on Saturday morning and the work was started to prepare the ghat for the Chhath rituals.

He accused the previous Arvind Kejriwal led AAP government of obstructing such religious and cultural activities, while adding that now the present government is promoting such celebrations in the city.

NDMC member Dinesh Pratap Singh, and MLA Abhay Verma, along with other BJP leaders accompanied Sachdeva to the Ghat and tool part in the preparations and the cleanliness drive.
